So... I have a damaged card from 2015 ITG Superlative... there are two creased clearly visible... as you can see.

I sent an email to Customer Service and this is their response.

"After reviewing the image you sent, it does not appear that this card would grade lower than an 8 with BGS. A BGS 8 MT-NRMT is our guarantee, which would not allow a replacement.

If you would like to send the card back to the address below, we can take it to Beckett for you as a courtesy and have them review it."

Am I wrong to be upset with this? I mean... WTF.

LOL, wow that is the best reply I have heard yet.

I recently had a run in over a damaged card from UD and was told it was too old to be replaced (I guess I can understand that) but a brand new damaged card not being replaced is a joke.

You would think Leaf would be doing all it could to keep the few hockey collectors it has left.

After the ITG fiasco, leaf stated they will make no extra cards. That way you can be sure there arnt extras out there. Sucks for you, but at least collectors know there arnt extra copies floating around

I can see that they wouldn't do a replacement, but I am really surprised if they at least don't send you a different / additional card or something to help make up for it. Wow.

If there's anything from this that I consider worthwhile, it's that they publish a guarantee that is independently verifiable. I would take them up on the grading offer.

I had a damaged Mcdavid jersey from itgu, they couldn't replace the card for something similar but sent me an extra card for the inconvenience. I got a Bryan Trottier ultimate auto jersey/10 sent to me

I sent in an ITGU Jagr gold auto jersey out of 10 with a 'machine punch mark' in the middle of it. They sent me a back a Lindros auto jersey /45. So, with my mailing and material costs I ended up WAY behind. This after their guarantee of supplying a similar or better replacement card. Emails on this went unanswered.

If they are going by beckett grading they are right that it would not grade lower than an 8.

They (Beckett) graded this one a 9 and its missing a piece of the card.

Beckett everything is a joke, and that response is as well.
Leaf isn't a grading service, and shouldn't tell you what it might grade for. If that card comes back from beckett with an 8 it just shows how much of a joke beckett grading is.

Pretty ridiculous in my opinion.

The only positive is that it saves m from wanting to open their product.......at all.

Had a McDavid Auto 13/25 out of 2014 Draft Prospects. The auto sticker was folded on one end. I asked them for a replacement. Same BS you got. If you want to send and it grades an 8 then they have done their job. They they said they would send me a card to offset the loss of value (they called it a good will gesture) and sent me a $20 Lafleur jersey card. Not nearly worth what I could of gotten for a clean McDavid auto. A JOKE

Although I agree on the intent... For a NEW card to grade as LOW as 8, it needs to have a pretty obvious defect.

So, really, Leaf can only guarantee a BGS 8 on their new straight-out-of-the-factory cards?!? To me that's the worst part in all of this.

I'm not here to bash Leaf, I have opened way too much ITGU and Stickwork, but seriously???

Curious if LEAFCEO or LEAFGREG will be joining the topic. Usually they're right on top of any mention of their company.

Speaking from the point of view of a person working in retail and customer service for over 25 years, The policy can only be seen as a poor service and uncaring by the consumer. I mean, even WALMART replaces / refunds if the product you buy is damaged.

I have a question, WHAT IF a card goes for grading and doesn't get an 8??

Pretty embarrassing they only guarantee an 8 on brand new cards.

Based on the wording of the posted email, it will be replaced.

So now we have to expect not to get any damaged pack pulled cards replaced? If I hadn't made my mind up already, this seals it. I'm done with ITG

It's not bad enough that our world is going to ****, now it's happening to our hobby. That has to be one of the single most ridiculous thing I've ever heard (this is RIGHT up there with those two scammers going out in a blaze of glory in the desert and Fullbag's rants).
