My ideas:
Have a "Team Leaders" set and just use the "C" from the captain's jersey and the "A" from the assistant. They would all be one of ones and I assume very sought after.
MTO auto memorabilia. Everyone loves the MTOs and it would be great if it could have an auto to go with the memorabilia.
Do not have normal base cards. Instead of base cards make them jersey cards. Have them numbered out of 90 and have a patch parallel out of 10. Maybe even make the patch out of 9 and have a one of one. That would be 100 cards per base card. Have a jersey set of 150 or so. That way you can use more 'filler' players.
I love the idea of coloured borders around the casing to the cards. I love the old slabbed card style and just have a gold, silver or black(or whatever colour you choose) as the top tier. That way when you open your pack you could just see what parallels that you have before you even look at the cards.
I would love to see Don Cherry cards like mentioned before.
Stick cards called "Blades". Just use the blade of the stick and have a big piece of it on the card. Yes I do realize that the curve would make it difficult to do. The wear and tear on the blade would be cool to see.
Have a jersey card of top players who were top ten picks over the last ten years. Make it like a six player jersey.

Another idea. How about a Gordie Howe hattrick set? Multi cards of players who have had at least one (goal, assist and fight in same game) in their careers. The list is extensive and includes pretty big names like Iginla, Tocchet, Shanahan, etc

How about going with some sort of "Cross" theme since it is Ultimate X
Maybe a set called Cross-state(province) Rivals featuring a Ranger paired with an Islander, a Flyer paired with a Penguin, an Oiler paired with a Flame, etc.
Maybe a set that features players from different eras that have some kind of connection with their names called Cross-Era Connections.

Feel free to use it that would be awesome. I was also thinking it could be a ten card set and they all could be /10. That idea kinda kills my hope for a Steen card in the set but either way it would be cool to have my idea in the set.

How about trophy cards by team instead of years. Take all the years of the trophy find players on the same team. Dont know if it will work cause of the different numbers of players on each card

I (like many others) have been preaching for a Hockey Movie autograph set. Mystery Alaska, Slap Shot and Young Blood are some of my favorite movies. I would love to have some hockey card auto's of these actors featuring pictures from the movies. That would be awesome.

That triple SOTT of the Hanson brothers that someone had done a few years ago was one of the coolest cards I ever seen. I would love to own it and would rather have that then almost any real player auto haha.
