Ah, Dave...the dual auto is real nice, and being a Pens collector I do have a few Tommy B items in there - but 2nd favorite Pens goalie?

In his day, he was a great goalie - but off the ice, he ranks high on the jerk-o-meter. Have you had the pleasure of meeting him? Not the nicest person...to say the least (side story saved for another time).

Anyway - some cool stuff added this week. (For what it's worth, I still have major respect for ya, despite the Tommy B comment - lol!)

Jason I know everyone says Barrasso is a jerk but I had a great experience the one time I met him. I attended a practice in 1996 at the Iceoplex and Barrasso cracked his stick and as he was taking it to the bench to get a new one he handed it over the glass to me. I waited for him to come out after the practice and he stopped to sign it and seemed very nice. he said the stick was only practice used and never saw game action.

Wow, cool stick Dave. maybe I just caught him on a bad day? Although I don't recall who said it or when, but I think the overall vibe I got was his personality on the ice (don't get near his crease unless you want your ankle broken) wasn't much different off.

I met him when I was a kid, like under 10 if I remember right - the youth hockey team I played for was invited to a Pens practice. So of course took a bunch of cards with me; everyone signed, including Jagr, Recchi, and the other guys there (still have all those cards) - but when I approach Barrasso he refused to sign my card. He said something about only signing books...something like that. Really, who says that to a little kid INVITED to your practice? Oh well, not like that's stayed with me all these years...oh wait... lol.

Although really, I'm sure for every bad experience (like mine) there are just as many good experiences (like yours).

sorry to hear you had a bad experience with Barrasso but like you said I'm sure for every good experience with him there is probably a bad one.

Barrasso has never signed cards. for whatever reason he refuses to sign cards but he will sign anything else. I have a buddy who met him in Calgary and he had a card and an 8x10 for him to sign and he would only sign the 8x10.
