NEED HELP!! - Making a List of Fake Patch Cards and Sellers

my fear as a bulk buyer is accidentally picking up stuff like this and not knowing anybetter if its real or fake. AHHHHH this aggravates me to no end ...

Hey all.. havent been on in a long time.. just got back at it.. the bug has taken hold of me again.. are there any confirmed 05/06 Hot Prospects crosbys that have been faked??
 
Anyone heard about hockcardsforsale ?

This seller has this Bure, and many others which looks too good to be true, listed twice on eBay. Also, the prices are extremely high.

yea the other looks as though it was cut to fit the space...badly.. i don't know, he's asking way to much for both so i wouldn't buy them but people should be aware if he is peddling fake patches and ruining rare cards....

The seller has tons of rare 90's and early 00's cards, so I wouldn't be surprised if these were legit.

He buys cards and tries to resell them at much higher prices. Lots of sweet patches in that emblem set - could certainly be legit.

The only reason I ask is that I have seen maybe half of these cards over the years but have never seen bears head patches used up until I saw this card.

Here are my thoughts:

+ Not a Kenny scan
+ Has other 09-10 Cup listed

-Had a 4 col Karlsson RC listed that was ended early
-Ontario based

Your call. I would lean toward legit atm.
 
Hello guys, I'm interested in the Kopitar in the link below, however the low feedback of the seller will always lead one to question. I am always weary of patch auto cards especially with significant cases of Kenny and the like. I try my hardest to do my own research through saving images of scans of all copies of the card in the print run so I can compare it on my own and avoid asking for help, but sometimes a person just needs the educated opinion of others. The knowledge people have in the hobby is astounding.

I have no idea how people fake patches, but there is a small indentation on the middle of the left border of the patch window. I am probably looking way to hard into it, but I like to be detailed.

Here are two sales history and scans of #18/25. I can't find number 17 of 25 anywhere, so this one is the next closest. The patch on this one does resemble the patch on the one in question above, which is a good sign (of course under the assumption that number 18 of 25 is legit)

This would most likely be my last significant purchase (if I am lucky enough) of the year, and I want to be as sure as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would say legit for 2 reasons:

1) All of the patches in the archive are from a white sweater
2) It would be very difficult to re-patch a card with a bit of the patch window extending over the swatch. If there were damage there I would be suspicious, but I'm not concerned about the touch on the left side.
