Official 2007 NHL Free Agency thread

8 years and a no movement clause! Unreal!

Mccabe was the first to get it, then Elias I believe now Briere.... these NMC will come back to bite several teams in the ***.

ya,
but terms and money
tsn is killing.

Brian Rafalski agrees to a five year, $30 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings.

3:57pm et
Calgary signs defenceman Cory Sarich to a five year, $18 million deal worth an average of $3.6 million per year.

LOL are you kidding me!?!?! 3.6M for Corey Sarich? The guy didn't even score a goal last year and was a minus player!

Each passing day Kubina and Mccabes salaries look better and better.

Gomez to the Rangers apparently.

Interesting but that's where I had him pegged to go in that ESPN poll along with Briere to Philly, so I am 2 for 2!:D

I just hope the rest of my picks come to fruition!;)

Also, I wonder how the Rafalski will do in Detroit? I think he is the new NHL type d-man, small and offensive with good wheels, like Visnovsky and Liles. We'll see.........

EDIT: Reports are Iginla is close to signing a four or five year extension that would take him out of that deep 08 class of free agents.

Terms for Perreault
4:41pm et
Forward Yanic Perreault agrees to terms with the Chicago Blackhawks on a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

Drury signed with the blue shirts too, according to TSN

That's crazy, the rangers just got a heck of a lot better.

How can Rangers afford Jagr (10) Drury (7) Gomez (7) Lundquist (3) Shanahan (4) Thats over 30 of the allotted 50.
