Official Washington Capitals Thread

Swap Belanger & Fleischmann on the 3rd line.

Jurcina's HURT and out until at least the playoffs. (now this trade makes no sense...?) So replace Jurcina with Erskine or Sloan.

That looks like the final draft.

Awwwgggg How'd a flyers fan get in here...;)And a comment too lol.
Anyways I think as the time draws near I really think they should address the Backstrom contract thing. It's up in may or july unless I'm wrong, and a resigning to a multi year contract would be the best thing here.Preferably before it's up.
my 2 cents

Sorry...just hard to pass up a Mike Green shot...amazing offensive threat though.
On Backstrom, I think he's the second best player on the team. I know that some people say Slap-Happy Semin is, or that Mike Green is, but I think that Backstrom's the best playmaker on the team and is what Ovechkin needs (and I think he can be a 40-goal scorer himself). Tell you what; give us back Knuble for a pick and use the $$ to sign Backstrom for 10 years. Seriously, sign him for as long as you have Ovechkin.

It's all good lol,he would make a good winger too though heheh. And yeah seriously I also find backstrom the 2nd best guy on the team and I would sign him for a 6-10 year contract too.But I think we're going to keep knuble...I like him ,don't know why you guys let him go.
Our achilles heel will be goal again unless someone runs with it.
Mike52green...yeah bud you've been forgetting about us lol.

Good read, Brian.

From Tarik

I did not see how exactly Brooks Laich was hurt moments ago, but he came off the ice in obvious pain, covering his left eye/side of his face. He walked into an area that is off limits to media, called for head athletic trainer Greg Smith and then dropped to his knees.

Coach Bruce Boudreau, several teammates and the training staff rushed to his side and got him back up to his feet.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Update: Laich was hurt when a shot by John Carlson hit the crossbar and deflected into his cheekbone area as the players messed around after practice. Early indications are that the injury is not critical. I'm sure Boudreau will address it soon.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Update: Boudreau indicated that Laich, who is one of the team's toughest players and has not missed a game since the 2006-07 season, has a cut under his left eye and is going to the hospital to get checked out.

"He got hit by a puck off the crossbar and post," Boudreau said. "He's going to [the hospital] to get sutchered up. I'm sure because it's in the face, they'll do all the precautionary stuff, do the X-ray and do whatever they have to do."

I don't post my pictures often on here but here's a few from this morning.

Going to the game tomorrow!

EDIT: Mathieu Perrault recalled from Hershey, most likely taking the place of Brendan Morrison.

Btw nice read Brian.:)
I'm looking foreward to the Caps finally getting their 50th win for the second time in team history.:)
I was just thinking tonight about past guys from the caps and wouldn't it be kool to see a few of them in a lineup with the new ones.I mean we can score like crazy now,no question about that. But to add in a Stevens,Langway,Murphy,Gartner or a few other obvious greats would be so kool.Besides Gartner scoring winger,we would be a scoring powerhouse and a defensive powerhouse at once.
I don't know just reminiscing is all and hoping we finally end this cup drought.:)
The funk that ovy was in and maybe still in(even though he got 2 points the other night)has slowed the teams momentum. We don't have much time to plug whatever hole the gas is leaking from and get everyones heads centered.
Here's to hoping we pound Ottawa and get the 50th win out of the way;)
