Patch forger... caught! gomaz would be proud ;)

I could have bought from him in the past, i do not understand why the secert of his name on here.

Or you could buy from him in the future on another site. I do not see the reasoning of not at least giving a HI username. If the evidence is as clear cut as it seems there is no reason to withhold it from the membership here.

The truth can never be found to be libel.

But a lawsuit could be expensive.... I'm not sure of Bruce's reasons, but I have to presume that he does have them, and in his mind, and owner/operator, I have to respect that.

Is this guy really going to get busted? Reading all these post give me questions as well. People say he's engaging in 'mail fraud' when in fact he's not. He's legitimately selling cards AND shipping them. Buyers are receiving them just fine. Also, from the evidence provided his his total actions accumulate to less than $1000! I doubt authorities will pursue any legal action against this guy for $500-$600 worth of fake patches.

If he has faked and sold a Crosby Cup RC...that would be a different story.

I wish something would happen but I have my doubts. I just hope UD will do SOMETHING to change their cards!!!

Like I said earlier I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping that Upper Deck decides to pursue this and makes an example out of this guy!!! It would be reassuring to the hobby community to show that they actually gave a crap about this!!! If not....the hockey hobby is such a small community that word will spread quickly and people stay away from this guy!!

I also know this seller, kinda shocking to say the least. And as Tom said, he is a pretty good friend to some members on here.

^^^As the H.I. Enforcer it's your duty to beat the snot out of this guy.:D

All kidding aside...If the allegations are true, karma will catch up with this lowlife. I believe that people who screw others over get theirs in the end.

Hope it was worth it, scammer.

i don't see what the problem is with giving the HI nick. 2 ebay nicks were given and no where has anyone stated this guys name. someone just post the nick for crying out loud.

I'm waiting for the call ;)

How is posting his HI Id here any more "dangerous" than posting his Ebay id's already? I would think the owner of a site should have complete control over the content of the site and what goes on it. There are already threads on the site for "Bad and Banned traders", so I fail to see why this one is any different than the rest. If you are worried about the person suing Hobby Insider...I suggest that all the other names come down too.

As I said, I don't know Bruce's reason for withholding that information, but as I said, I suspect that he does have his reasons.

Other than that, forget I said anything.

I think we should leave the decision up the Bruce, but to calm you wolves down a bit, none of you that have asked for his ID on here have bought from him under the transaction section on these boards.

For the record, I DO have my reasons... but this member has not sold anything on here for well over a year. Since he has done nothing fraudulent on HI, to "out" him with personal info can get dicey under the Privacy Act. I'm not prepared to go that route.

For now, the information about the eBay IDs is intact and factual. That's where the disclosure to HI members ends at this time. Sorry guys.

I just want too say how happy i am to have members of the collecting community who look out for us! It's really a joy to have these collectors take the time to make sure alot of us arent screwed over. I raise a glass ( of Crown) , to all who have helped in this investigation. JAY

I agree with Bruce not stating the ID on here. First of all, although there may be strong evidence, the person has not been found guilty of anything and by stating the ID could cause more grief than it is worth. Privacy legislation is a very tricky beast and being over cautious is never a bad thing IMO.

Disgusted!!!

Nice work Bruce et al!

I hope that UD reads this and sees the potential devastation it will cause their business. If I pull a sick patch from next month's Cup and decide to dispose of it, do i need proof that it is real? What a hassle. I feel bad for the case breakers. This has to hurt their return too.

For those members asking for the guys HI ID, don't ask Bruce, ask all the guys who know him. Several people have said that they know this guy and are extremely disappointed by this news. How about one of them step up and out him?!?!

I have said this 100 times....Upper Deck needs to fix this. Not the RCMP, not HI, not ebay, not Bruce, not me. Upper Deck. The problem originates with them and should end with them.

The cards in this thread prove that they have done nothing to protect their end users. They have known about this for years now and they continue to do NOTHING!

I am so glad that ITG has stepped up their game recently as it gives us an alternative to Upper Deck. Hopefully the NHL grants them a license so they can help put some integrity back into our hobby.

I am really looking forward to the National in late July. I'm going to wear a shirt that says "Is that a fake patch?" I'll probably need a few of them to last the whole show.

I just bought a Zetterberg honorable numbers auto patch from the alleged forger. If the one I bought was fake then man is this guy good at his craft as it shows literally zero of the tell tale signs of patch swapping. The only thing I could think of is if he somehow has a way to separate the card into layers but again it doesn't appear like that was done to mine.
