I know that Hossa is a super star and the team that gets the best player usually gets the best of the deal but giving up Armstrong ,Christtensen and a first rounder seems a little much. Like Cory said I hope he is signed for several years.

Not happy with what the Leafs did they could have done more and got rid of some of the junk players they have the got rid of one Belak and that made me happy yes big strong fighter they did not need that. and Gill for a draft picks are great I just hope they can draft well with what they got.

Well I see that the Kings and Lombardi chose to sit this one out (or sleep late).
Why couldn't they have picked up Huet for a 3rd round pick? Yes I know the Caps offered a 2nd rounder but there's little difference between #51 and #61.
Also thought they might move Blake in a rental flip.

Not happy with what the Leafs did they could have done more and got rid of some of the junk players they have the got rid of one Belak and that made me happy yes big strong fighter they did not need that. and Gill for a draft picks are great I just hope they can draft well with what they got.
So they traded Gill, Kilger, and Belak and received a 2nd, 3rd, and two 5ths and saved 3.6M in salary for next season.
Not to mention they will dump Bell (2.167M) and Raycroft (2M) this offseason.
Not to mention Kubina has a clause in his contract where he can be traded between draft day and Aug 15 and they will guarantee trade him, save 5M and maybe get a decent pick.
Not much else Fletch could do considering the team has 5 NTC's.
I guess theres still Ponikarovsky and maybe Stajan that could be moved.

I'm jsut glad the leafs dumped some salary and htis is a deep draft i think so they could end up wth a couple solid prospects IF their counting desides to show up.
they just need to do their homework or even follow in the foot steps of sens, wings, and ducks (to name a few) in terms of drafting.

im glad the islanders got rid of that BUM simon. i woulda taken a bag of pucks for him.
also glad to get rid of bergeron. nice to have on the power play and shot, but too much of a liability on defense. him and berard on at the same time was a horror show.
