Ebay Name: rich_sam

at least shipping was only 1.75

Ebay - Filispa

Not only was he delayed in shipping (6 weeks) but he responded to my email telling me that I was suppose to pay more for international shipping:( The auction stated it was extra for over seas I am not over seas. I paid the invoice he sent me. Then he told me the item was sent which I REALLY doubt from the feeling from the other emails.

Then the best part was he grumbled that I was suppose to pay the extra shipping and it showed up in a white envelope with no team bag or penny sleeve and a regular 95 cent stamp. The card which was a Fleer Pippen rookie was stuck to the piece of masking tape he had put across the top of the top loader sigh. Anyhow these older fleer cards are like old OPC, tape is not that friendly to them.

Know what's funny? The difference between a 1.5oz(probably an average weight) going to Canada and one going to California(choose a "famous" zip code which is also the name of a TV show) is .10 [silly]cents. have a postage scale....Why have such lousy customer service over 10 cents? I rather have a buyer come back and buy again vs make an extra buck on shipping(which is really going in my pocket/eBay fees)

I got a PWE today from ebay seller ... montrealcards with 19158 feedback

Charged $3.50 for PWE with penny sleeve inside an "old & dirty" toploader wrap in paper, but they did ship it quick and had good communication

Luckily my Gustavsson Black Diamond Quad RC was still in great shape

I've never checked out this thread before. Finally read it today. Card showed up in the U.S. from Quebec in a PWE. Spent over $40 on an auto card/10. I guess free shipping equals PWE. This happened about a month ago, but I'm still angry about it.

Hopefully you card was not damaged and was it in a top loader?
It's good that the shipping was free. I remember paying $3-$6 on shipping and it was in PWE!

Some of the trades I made the cards were shipping in PWE and they did not even put the card in a top loader!
I did have a GU card damaged when it was shipped in PWE. It was a long time from a trade site that don't exist anymore so I forgot the person's name.

No fortunately it arrived in good condition. I still haven't left them feedback yet. It seems everytime I mention to sellers about shipping like this I get *****ed out about it. I'm tired of it.

Taken straight from his auction:

Description

Hello there, you are looking at a 2008-09 Upper Deck Black Quad Jersey Patch card of Jonathan Cheechoo, serial numbered 76/99. The card is in mint condition and is number 19 in the set.

Shipping / Payment

Shipping for this card will be $2.99 to Canada and $3.99 to the United States. The card will be placed in a penny sleeve and top loader, and shipped in a bubble mailer to ensure that it won't be damaged. I do combine shipping on multiple auctions won at a rate of .50 cents per additional auction won. I only accept PayPal and I will ship the next business day after receiving payment. Feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks for looking.

Not so. Card arrived in a penny sleeve taped between 2 reg. sized toploaders and in a plain white envelope. Creased. Twice, of course. Offered to leave him a well detailed neutral or have him refund my $3.99 shipping charge. We'll see what happens.

Ebay ID: sportsfancanada. Feedback 1193.

Sent me a Datsyuk 2001-02 Signature Series Gold Auto in a PWE with 2 pieces of cardboard from some type of soup or prepackaged noodle box(like a Kraft Mac & Cheese box). Made it unharmed but I'm tired of this crap.

Hey guys. I haven't post here that much so please don't be foolish in thinking I'm new to the hobby......I started with 1975 Topps Baseball triple blister packs! LOL

Anyway, I sell on occasion, eBay. I use bubble mailers (more like RE-use), but if I'm getting a base card or low value paralell, a PWE is fine with me as long as the seller packs it appropriately. I am not thrilled at this method of packing, but many cards can go thru the mail with little or no worry of being flexed a little.

I've received cards in a penny sleeve in between the dreaded food packing card board (like the Mac & Cheeze), JUST a penny sleeve wrapped in paper and all combos that included a loader.

Again, I'm never thrilled but can understand it sometimes. As long as it isn't a piece of jersey or other equipment where the swatch cut out can get those little effin' creases or buckles, I'm OK granted I didn't pay $3.50 for shp & hndl.

We all have won that card for $.99 on eBay, right???? Need I continue? The seller takes the risk by starting it that low, but we can go easy on them if the card was cheap to begin with.

I once got one of those MVP one on one (Carter, Parise) cards. The guy shipped it out in a plain white, top load yadda yadda. The card came creased......VERY (insert bad word that starts with "F" and ends with "ing" here) CREASED! I was bummed but really bummed when I got the "I send 100s of cards this way and never got a complaint....." reply from him.

If the card has a chunk of game worn in it, you have to ship it in AT LEAST** a penny slv, load and bubble thingie.

** Even then, you will still get disappointed from time to time or at least on occasion. I work for UPS. The poop I've seen will make you ALL cringe............

This happens at ALL carriers; UPS, USPS, FedEx, Canada Post..... These people work hard and for the most part are conscientious caring people. But they are always pressured to do "More more more faster faster faster!!!!"

If you win a card for 99 cents and paid with paypal, the seller took a loss if he charged you under $3. You have the choice to avoid his PWE by not bidding, but that guy will sooner or later have that one card that eludes you! LOL

NOW, if the guy charges more than $3 and you get a PWE, well then we should all go to his home in an angry mob carrying torches kind of fashion

Just kidding.

My first PWE in a long time, seems ot be a baseball seller, but just in case he dabbles into hockey.

Billy&Willy - $4 for shipping, sent in a PWE (Same thing you would get for FREE with a greeting card) with a $0.54 stamp.

Dave

Like before with my eBay purchases, nothing too serious, but ice119 used a white envelope to sell a very rare card to me (that I won in an auction). The shipping was $2.80 to Finland, so that's very reasonable. Card was in a toploader and arrived safely here, so like said, nothing too serious. I left a positive 19/20 points feedback for him in Ebay too.

I would buy more from this seller.

Here is another one...ebay user sebmajor. Paid $3.50 for shipping to the US from Quebec and it showed up in a PWE. I will leave postive but ding him on his rating.

My view is like this, I can make a profit by asking $3.00 for S/H and I send in a padded mailer. If I over pay for shipping and get it in a PWE it is worthy of a ding on the rating.

Got one today,

Ebay ID: Handrwholesalestore
Charged $3.00 US shipping for .50 stamp
Sent the card in a PWE but the worst thing was that the card was not in a Toploader but wrapped in the invoice of the printout of the transaction slip.
I'm glad the card wasn't badly damaged. But it did have a minor crease. This was also a upgrade card for one I already had so thankfully I don't have to get another one.

EBAY Seller - sportsfancanada

$3 shipping, PWE, card in soft sleave taped to two thin index cards and card was creased in half. Paypal claim filed and negative will be left to alert others of his shipping fees and poor packaging.

this fellow: salect2410 sure is a piece of work. Charges USD $3.49 for S&H and sends in a PWE. I remit Positive Feedback with the comment: Card arrived undamaged. $3.49 S&H for PWE, not impressed!

He replies with: ■Reply by salect2410 (01-Oct-10 21:56):
ARE ALL THESE FOOLS FROM DOWN EAST???

This isn't the half of it. I'd post the e-mail I received, however I'd have to suspend myself for the colourful expletives.... lol

I'm really surprised that the card this fellow sent me came with OK condition.

pete$lp shipped in PWE WITHOUT a top loader. Only a penny sleeve was covering the card... Not a good impression...

Seller:

hotrod56cards

The Cards:

A relatively inexpensive jersey card and an auto. Totaling about $10 sale price. Shipping was only $1. I guess I should have known. But still.
