Hey guys. I haven't post here that much so please don't be foolish in thinking I'm new to the hobby......I started with 1975 Topps Baseball triple blister packs! LOL
Anyway, I sell on occasion, eBay. I use bubble mailers (more like RE-use), but if I'm getting a base card or low value paralell, a PWE is fine with me as long as the seller packs it appropriately. I am not thrilled at this method of packing, but many cards can go thru the mail with little or no worry of being flexed a little.
I've received cards in a penny sleeve in between the dreaded food packing card board (like the Mac & Cheeze), JUST a penny sleeve wrapped in paper and all combos that included a loader.
Again, I'm never thrilled but can understand it sometimes. As long as it isn't a piece of jersey or other equipment where the swatch cut out can get those little effin' creases or buckles, I'm OK granted I didn't pay $3.50 for shp & hndl.
We all have won that card for $.99 on eBay, right???? Need I continue? The seller takes the risk by starting it that low, but we can go easy on them if the card was cheap to begin with.
I once got one of those MVP one on one (Carter, Parise) cards. The guy shipped it out in a plain white, top load yadda yadda. The card came creased......VERY (insert bad word that starts with "F" and ends with "ing" here) CREASED! I was bummed but really bummed when I got the "I send 100s of cards this way and never got a complaint....." reply from him.
If the card has a chunk of game worn in it, you have to ship it in AT LEAST** a penny slv, load and bubble thingie.
** Even then, you will still get disappointed from time to time or at least on occasion. I work for UPS. The poop I've seen will make you ALL cringe............
This happens at ALL carriers; UPS, USPS, FedEx, Canada Post..... These people work hard and for the most part are conscientious caring people. But they are always pressured to do "More more more faster faster faster!!!!"
If you win a card for 99 cents and paid with paypal, the seller took a loss if he charged you under $3. You have the choice to avoid his PWE by not bidding, but that guy will sooner or later have that one card that eludes you! LOL
NOW, if the guy charges more than $3 and you get a PWE, well then we should all go to his home in an angry mob carrying torches kind of fashion
Just kidding.
