Trade Rumours? Post 'em

You can compare Antropov to Toews all you want.... I take toews 17 out 10 times. One is young and has potential, the other....... ?

You are correct however, there is a place for Mr. Antropov - a 25 goal, 60 pt, 6'6'' forward who can play all 3 forward positions..... on a non-playoff team. Oh wait, he's already there.

I'm not trying to bust your chops but there is a reason you always want to get in hockey pools full of leafs fans .... they think with their heart, not their head.... LOL

Toews is younger and lets not forget how he got off to a slow start this season. Antropov is too enigmatic. Like you, I take Toews 20 times out of 10.

That said, Antropov is a good player in his own right but let's not compare him to a future franchise center. Antropov's ceiling is pretty close to being met at this point in his career while Toews has a loooooooong way to go.

Antropov is a good 60 point 2nd line center.

Why did the Rangers sign Mark "the Drunk" Bell? What is Sather thinking?

The Rangers are desperate and desperately need some size up front. Bell couldn't even crack the Leaf's line up however, so I don't know what he can provide for the Rangers. This is his last kick at the NHL can, so maybe he surprises people..

Rumor is Antropov to Columbus for a 1st Round pick. Please let this happen :D :D

Columbus is desperate to make the playoffs, but they don't really have the assets to land any of the big names out there. I can see them doing this trade or Burke making a bigger trade and possibly landing Leclaire..

Not sure who is worse Strachan or Bruce Garrioch who throws so much crap against the wall -- and sometimes gets lucky when some sticks.

Bruce Garrioch's middle name is "Malkin to the Kings!".

While nothing is ever impossible, Crosby and Malkin are two trade untouchables in Pittsburgh. They're producing, locked down to deals that are mutually beneficial, and Pittsburgh is inching towards its 100th consecutive sellout - not hard up for cash.

Staal is actually surprisingly high on the list of guys who they won't trade. He's become a solid two-way player, and an ideal third-line center on a team that rarely rolls out its fourth line.

Mike Farkas (who a couple posters in this thread seem to be channeling) may be the best of the bunch - he's so good he's relegated to the penguin fans koolaid site.

All the talk is that they are shopping Staal, 4 Million is ok but not for a 3rd or 4th line center, any other team would try him out on one of the higher lines.

That being said, I hope they trade him. They could probably get a decent winger for the Kid.

To be fair, Colby Armstrong was nearly an untouchable as well. It took a deal for Hossa to move him.

I believe the only odd man out is Ryan Whitney, and the deals that bring us Erik Cole sound attractive; especially if he can be locked down. I'd rather see him playing beside Crosby than Martin St. Louis.

I read a couple of blurbs earlier that talked about the Wings' scouting of the Avs/Thrashers game the other night, which has sparked some interesting conversation ;)...

The price of Kaberle has gone up once again with the trade of Whitney. Whitney is a promising young defenceman, but doesn't have anything close to the credentials as Kaberle does. So if Whitney is worth a 2nd liner and a solid prospect then Kaberle should be worth that a first rounder and another player????

I would sooner expect to see Staal at Left Wing than to see him traded.

If the Leafs trade Kaberle they will get a boatload for him - I would bet that he will end up sticking around though.
Burke said that if they moved him they would spend the summer looking for a player to replace him and I'm just not sure that guy is out there.

I really wonder how many sellers there are going to be this year with so many teams in the mix for the playoffs, specifically in the West - there are only a couple of teams that are out of the mix at this point. Should be an interesting run here.

Just heard on the FAN 590 that the Bruins offered Joe Coburn, a first rounder and a 3rd for Tomas Kaberle. NEXT PLEASE...

Phx: Bryzgalov & Morris
Phi: Biron or Nitty, Lupul, Carle

Both teams are talking right now. I hope Biron gets the kick out of Philly.

doesn't make any sense for either side..looks like a salary dump for the coyotes since they can't resign morris and philly just dumping guys in the hope that bryzgalov will be better than what they have now..

Tell me why the Leaf's are interested in Pascal Leclaire? I hope this is just a rumour b/c this makes no sense to me. Apparently the Jackets are interested in Antropov as we all know, but Moore and Strallman could also enter into the mix. But for Leclaire? Sure he had a breakthrough season last year, but trading for a guy coming off an injury plagued season is never a good thing. Go after him if he's a free agent and use him as an insurance policy next year, but otherwise stay away. The Leaf's have bigger problems than in goal as well..

Well the leafs already shot on Raycroft and Toskala, and Pogge doesn't look to be anything special, so what's another goalie?

Kaberle has another year left on his contract at 4.5 mil - gonna be tough for the Leafs to part with that.
