Whats Happening with Carey Price?

Montreal should ship him out, if they want to go somewhere. Carey is costing them games, this guy is over-rated imo. The excuses for him are lame, there are a lot more goalies out there that are way better.

You would make a great GM in the league.

Price will be just fine.People need to remember he is only 21. Habs fans are great but there are some that just over react and panic.A few weeks back they wanted everybody fired and traded.Chill out the good ship canadien will be just fine.

The vets and organisation are not helping the kids at all.

I dont know the right english term but a big lack of `encadrement`.

You see the youngs stars fron other team , there living whit a star player , a coach, even an owner thats taking then under there arm.

Carey got stuck in an appartement, got fat eating junk. You dont go out parting all night often if you live whit a teamate thas has a familly.

I wonder if our captain ever had a young gun under his arm, there left to there own.

Well said.
I don't think there's anything seriously alarming going on with Price. I just think his own fans have too high expectations and can't give him time to breathe. On the other hand I don't see why we shouldn't have high expectations, unlike for example Latendresse, Price actually has enough skills to, atleast partially, live up to the hype.

Jeez, 10 bad games after an injury and everyone forgets the World Jr. Gold, the AHL Championship, the Eastern Conference title, and All-Star numbers up until the All-Star break... and he's still only 21.

Who are you guys itching to crucify next?

In this case, crucification is justified. Maybe his ijury is still bothering him, and he was brought back too early. If so, that's the fault of the management.

As for his last 10 crappy games, this is crucial timing because of the playoff run. He should be playing his absolute BEST. As you can see, he isn't.

People being crucified, are you for real?

*presses ignore button*

Just like Price's rise to fame has been blown out of proportion, so has his current skid.

Geez... Stamkos has been close to garbage up until a few weeks ago. Thank god we didn't give up on him.

Lecavalier, Thornton, St Louis, ... good thing they weren't "crucified" after their first 3 seasons.

Does anyone remember (after the '86 playoffs) how many times Roy took a back seat to Hayward, including the '87 playoffs? Roy was almost run out of town 1 year removed from winning the Cup and had many ups and downs for a good 5 years.

He only turned out to be the greatest goalie of our time. I sure am glad no one nailed him to a post.

1. For the record, I never said Fleury was a terrible goalie, I juust said hes not a great goalie. Theres only a handful of them in the league. I would also love to have him in Philly, lol.

2. Sadly, I think the Montreal media and fans are killing Price. He is 21, and he has potential, but he shouldnt have been handed the starting reigns as a rookie last year. He also shouldnt have been an allstar this year, but thats a different debate. Montreal did eventually run Patrick roy out of town, and If they could eventually crack a two time cup winner and greatest goalie of his generation ,and run him out of town, then Price is meat, lol. Motreal seems to be where good goalies get torn apart. I dont get it, what gives????

Yes, Price's play has been horrid lately but no one calls out the defence or the mistakes made by the forwards. Everything is Price's fault.

He is young and will have his ups and downs, most goalies take a while to reach their potential.

Plain and simple.

Forget what price is doing, if he had more support from his D men, it wouldn't be so bad right now. I hate the habs, but with that said he is an above average goalie not great, but does have #1 to stay potential. If you don't want him in Montreal anymore ship him to Detroit, they score enough goals to make average goalies look great.

LOL did anyone see tonight's game? Price was incredible, the rest of the team was AWFUL. Even the Islanders would have done a better job than these guys.

agreed, nice to see #31 rounding back into form, now if only the defense wasn't garbage, and the offense had some heart and desire to win.

His glove has a hole in it, he just needs to sew it up.

He's a talented young kid having to play through more pressure than almost any other netminder in the league. Hype is a rough thing.

Kaboom K-Man.

I saw a couple changes in his play last night.

More drive with his lateral, standing up a second longer and glove was great. All pieces from his record breaking drive at the start of the season.

They should make him Captain so he could kick some *** in the dressing room, then make him the coach:D

He's not ready to be a full-time starter. Especially in Montreal. I think his confidence is shot.

If you ask anyone goalies mature around the 26 to 30 mark. Only the best of the best are good right out of the gate. Give him some time because he does have the tools of a great player. Not everyone is as cocky as Hasek and Roy, Belfour which seemed to get them over the humps.. It is an attitude adjustment but to be a great goalie you have to have attitude too.. Look at Tim Thomas in Boston..the guy is super cockey and you have to be as a goalie. I hope they can strengthen that and then he will fly out of the gate.

Yeah I think it's all the pressure for him not to lose anymore games. When everything you do is criticized and harped on especially the coach calling you out at times you either buckle under pressure or rise to the ocasion and it's a shame that this kid has to be put in this spot but being in Montreal it kind of just came with the job. I hope halak takes over for the rest of the season so be could he can build on his confidence because he can be great but needs time to be a consistant NHL ready goalie.
