Another UD cut signature screwup?

Yikes!, just another reason why you should never trust UD cut autos...

nice to see your still around stephen! you gotta make it out to one of the shows sometime!

thanks, Geoff

I know it's supposed to be a fun hobby, but honestly, it baffles me that people will still spend money on game used cards and autographs. I don't know how anyone can trust anything Upper Deck produces anymore. Screw me once-shame on you, screw me twice.......

Maybe it's time for Upper Deck to have some competition from a hockey card company who knows hockey and cares.

That's not Topps who gave up their license twice in last decade or Panini who makes great stickers.

Give us a chance to go head to head with UD on a level playing field and collectors will benefit.

It's about time.

^^ This! If anyone actually cared about the fans, then this should happen!

Well......let me put my right foot in and do the hokey pokey on over to the line forming on the right....

How long does it take to compare the cut you have in your hands to recognized autos of the same player BEFORE you put it into your PREMIER product....? Hmmm, I think maybe 1 minute per cut, tops...based on experience (what is that...).

On the bright side, they squeezed 3 Lynn Patrick autos into the pack out....errrrr.....product run....(would not want to assume anything, like the other two even made it to packs versus backdoored....)

Anxiously awaiting a response detailing the following:

1) Blaming the new printing company that manufactures the cards, since it's not like Upper Deck's got their logo on them or anything.
2) Asking collectors for their patience as these "new" wrinkles get ironed out.
3) A statement that the issue will be looked into and steps will be taken to make sure it does not happen again. Just like the last time this happened! Oh wait.

Hey, eventually you realize that this is just the way Upper Deck does business.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go admire my Bernie Federko and Joe Mullen dual patch card.

Actually I was going to do a post just like this when the card arrived (should be any day now)... oh well.

Still makes for a nice addition to my "Upper Deck Error Collection".

Within a month we've had this issue and the two 1/1's. Seriously guys how can you trust anything that comes from these guys.

Here Here Dr. Price. I agree whole heartedly.

To further my "whoops, there it is" comment, since Dr. Price has already brought up competition in this thread, I'll further that by saying that I would HOPE some level of competition (two companies on equal footing) would prevent something like this from happening.

I expect to hear that this is one error in one million or something like that, but handling cut sigs and placing stickers upside down are two different animals. I also expect that there may be an apology and then we'll never hear about this card again...until the next screw up.

No competition, no accountability...no reason to care. Sorry UD...creating two 1/1 Black RCs from The Cup may have been a simple vendor error and might be understandable, but something like this shows that you're just too rushed to put things together and send them out the door. You need to put barbs on the ends of your whips to make sure the folks downstairs start getting things like this right.
