Crack Them Slabbed Cards Open

Best way to crack a graded slab . . .

What are you ideas? Somebody once said using a hacksaw works, but that sounds a bit precarious, any other ideas?

Thanks,
cburt:D

You need some vise grip , flat screwdriver and some safety glass because that plastic will fly over if its a BGS slab.

Put the vise grip on the upper corners and twist/break the upper part of the slab, ussually one shot on both corners + all the upper part on top of the card. After with a flat screwdriver you pop open the slab in 2 parts.

If its a BGS slab the tricky part is taking the card out of its pouch, i put the pouch in a top loader that fits it, cut the top edged whit an exacto, pull open the corners and take the card out.

If its a psa slab just slam it on the ground.

Blowtorch? Warm it up and see if the glue melts, or warm it up really hot and put it the freezer? Try that with a card you don't care about first!

BGS Slabs are "sonically" sealed if I remember right which means no glue is used, just friction

Warming it up and freezing only works if the object has two different compounds that shrink and expand at different rates

Don't bother finding a road crew doing work and asking the guy with the jackhammer if he wants to make an easy $5, you'll just get strange looks.
