NHL Debuts 2011-12

I just did a little bit of looking into Joel Martin, since he seems to be the last eligible 10-11 "debut" to not appear in a set.

He was a member of the Odessa Jackalopes, and had been playing with Bridgeport of the AHL under a PTO. During the Islanders' goalie injury disaster, he was signed by the Islanders to a one-year two-way deal. The key is that it was an NHL deal, so he should be eligible. Why did the companies miss him?

Mikko Koskinen was the starting goaltender on February 8, 2011. Kevin Poulin (the listed backup) was injured during warm-ups, and Martin was very quickly recalled from Bridgeport. He arrived during the second period and only sat on the bench for the third period of the game. That would have been very easy to miss, since he wasn't listed on the original roster for the game.

Great detective work! I could very easily see UD using those game sheets as a basis for their checklists.

Corey Tropp of my alma mater, Michigan State, is called up to take Pat Kaleta's spot in the lineup for Buffalo.

Yeah, even you go to NHL.com > to the scores tab > go back to Feb 8 > click on game stats, it lists Poulin on there still as backup, never even mentions Joel Martin.

Still don't know why Lee Sweatt didn't get a card. He made his debut BEFORE the all star game, which was the 2 companies proposed cut off for carryovers. And didn't end up in one product last year and so far this year.

And what about Minnesota Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper? He was called up on Nov 13 and sent to minors one day later. Dont you somebody know if he was a backup against Ducks that day? Luk.
