I had put the US in the top four at the begining. Knowing full well the most memorable Gold medal match up would be Canada/US. Congrats to the American and Canadian hockey teams for making this one of the best hockey games every played.

These Olympic games were a defining moment in Canadian history. From Alex Bilodeau winning Canada's first Gold medal on home soil, to the Canadian Men's Hockey team winning a nail bitter. I'd just like to thank, not only Canada's athlete's, but ALL ATHLETE's who competed in these 2010 Winter Olympic Games to make them the best ever. RIP Nodar Kumaritashvili you touched all our hearts.
 
Isn't it obvious why Team Canada won? There were no Toronto Maple Leafs or Montreal Canadiens in their lineup. If you gonna win the big one, you gotta start with people that know how to win :)

Great game, great outcome and GREAT Olympics in general. I'm proud of all the athletes. But...it's over now. Iggy, we'll let you leave Vancouver with a cheer THIS time, but not again for a long long time :) Yes...I'm kidding....or am I??

Tough and tough. It's clear that Team Canada and The Penguins have been more complete as teams than Team Russia and The Capitals, no discussion. Ovechkin is still a stronger individual card than Crosby with out any doubt.

Why and how is ovechkin brought into this thread.

I go to the last page expecting to read congratulatory posts and perspectives on the game. And find out the sidiots have come out of hiding to troll the boards again:|:|:|

THat being said, I had Russia and Sweden for the gold medal game just because thats who I wanted to see. I would have loved for Lundy to carry Sweden to another gold. It will have to wait, I guess I can find solace in Drury and Callahan carrying their underrated and underexpereinced team to a silver medal.

PS: Kane was the best skater I saw in the entire tournament. And Weber has a simply amazing shot. Good to see players I dont get to normally see being in the NYC/Boston area.

What an amazing game!

1. Hats off to Canada. Probably one of the best games I ever saw in TV. You deserved it and I tip my hat to Crosby for the winning goal (tough to swallow), but he was your hero.

2. Props to Ryan Miller, hands down is the main reason why USA got so far. Hopefully, if my request is made, my new Team USA will be made by the Flyers equipment manager (who was Team USA equipment mgr), will make my USA jersey incoming a Miller jersey to honor the work he did for USA.

3. USA hockey will be better and stronger than ever in Russia, hopefully that will happen.
 
BTW, I think its a lock now that Crosby is a lock for the HHOF. Wold Jr. medal, Olympic Gold, Stanley Cup, and I have to watch this kid in a Pens jersey for more years to come :| :| :| :| :|
 
I do have to say that I am glad it is over. One more week of rooting FOR Ryan Kesler and I may have suffered and aneurysm. :D Go WILD!!!!

Heck Corey Perry may have a shot given everything he has accomplished. He has won a mem cup, Stanley Cup, WJC Gold, and now an Olympic GOld. Not trying to hi-jack the thread but he's done alot in his short time as well.

Congrats to both teams for a fantastic game.

This game was just AMAZING!!! and to watch my favorite player score the winning goal!!! definitly one of the coolest moments ever, besides meeting Crosby himself this summer:)
