Eklund is already tweeting that a deal to L.A is done. Bernier, Penner, Hunter and a pick. That would be highway robbery if you ask me

Eklund is a bum. If that trade actually happened I would drop any ties that I have to the Blue Jackets. Bernier is a great prospect, but he's not a proven #1 starter, especially for a bottom dweller team like ours. That plus the 1st rnd pick is realistically all we are getting for that and Nash is worth more than a goalie prospect and a pick.

My ideal movement would be to Phoenix with either OEL/Rundblad/Gormley+, Florida for Kulikov/Gudbranson+, Washington for Carlson+, or with Boston for Hamilton+. I'd probably take another potential lottery pick though as well.

If you ask me Nash will want to go to a contender so that's going to rule out the Florida/Phoenix teams. For some reason I think it'll be the Rangers. Hoping for the Wings though..:)

The BJs have to get an offer they like before they even ask Nash to waive his no movement. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still in Columbus next month.

guys, please remember you got Mcdonnagh for SCOTT GOMEZ. If you look at it that way, Gomez plus first rounder plus contract for Nash is SWEET. :D

everything depends on who is on Nash's list. if it's only a couple of teams then the return will likely be much less than on the open market. now that this is out, how can Howson not trade him? he's the captain and he's OK with being traded. that isn't going to work.

i don't think this gets out unless Howson believes he has a deal in place, or at least close to in place.

You don't think they would ask Nash who he would play for first? Why negotiate with a team he isn't going to waive his NMC to??? He probably already gave CBJ the list and those are the teams they are trying to hammer a deal out with.

Oh, so that how you Yanks do it; up here we put the cart before the horse.

Right you are, but what I meant was CBJ is limited by Nash's choices and I get a feeling CBJ is going to overvalue Nash considerably.

Nash is the Columbus Blue Jackets. It's not overvaluing in that sense because he means more to them than his play on the ice. They have to "overvalue" him. I don't know that they'll necessarily move him now. He could get moved in the summer or he could stay if there isn't an offer they deem worthy.

That's true, it could be a summer trade. It might have to reach a boiling point to get a deal done right now. Though who knows we may be at that point but no one knows.

Howson doesn't HAVE to trade him. He's holding all the cards. All he has to do is say I want x,y,z, and just for good measure the rest of the alphabet. Take it or leave it.

Ottawa could get in on this with all the young talent they have but I don't think Murray would be willing to mess with the "retool" right now. As much as I'd love to see Nash on Spezza's wing.......

no matter how many times you say it Frank it just wont happen lol:beer:

If Nash went to Vancouver, I would cry. Been a life time Canuck hater. I said the only way I would become a fan is if Nash went to Vancouver. As much as I would love to see Nash play more often, I would rather have him get traded to another team.

My pick are the Sharks. Not sure for what but a Thornton/Nash reunion would be great for the Sharks imo

Nash gaved a short list of teams he is willing to go to.
Reporters were reporting...
Garrioch
Sharks
Rangers
Flyers
Sabres

"Five or less teams - it's just a guessing game at this point, but one would think the four or five teams would come from a group that includes Boston, the Rangers, Philadelphia, San Jose, Toronto, and perhaps Vancouver and/or Los Angeles. Now that isn't to say that there aren't other teams like the Nashville Predators or St Louis blues who are perhaps more interested than some of those others and maybe even better positioned in terms of assets and finances to pull it off"

Ryan Miller/Luongo, both have NTC, any chance they waive it to come to Columbus? I say no.

When Burke first went to TO he said that the main FA he wanted was Nash. Then Nash went and resigned the longterm deal with the Jackets. Lets hope he can get Nash now, that would be awesome.

From what I have heard he doesn't want to play in a hockey market like toronto or montreal. He likes the anonymity of living in Columbus.. but it could be hearsay for all I know. I hope we don't give up too much if he does come here.

Ameet, I have to agree with this. I've seen too many saviors come and go in TO
who were going to put us over the top. I just hate to see a trade where we give up too much youth for a veteran like Nash.
Just took a quick glance at the stats and Nash is currently in 69th. spot with 39 points, don't sound like a franchise guy to me.

Dan.
